Festo VTUX: check the configuration before ordering spares
New valve-terminal functions make exact configuration important. Use this checklist when sourcing a module or a complete assembly.
The development
In February 2026, Festo announced extensions to VTUX, including Festo AP communication, additional vacuum and I/O options, and energy-saving valve functions. The release describes several possible configurations within the same platform.
What it means for sourcing
VTUX alone does not identify a complete orderable spare. Distinguish a whole terminal, an individual valve slice, a connection module and an accessory before requesting a quote. An extension to an existing machine may have different requirements from a like-for-like replacement.
The bill of materials and connection diagram are especially useful. Record the installed communication interface and pneumatic function. The person responsible for the machine must review any change in function or configuration.
What to include in your enquiry
- Complete order code and nameplate
- Required assembly and bill-of-materials position
- Valve function, connections and installed communication
- Documented configuration, quantity and machine serial number
