ABB introduces a digital eCatalog for drives
The new drive catalogue supports technical comparisons. A precise spare-part enquiry still needs the type code, options and application details.
The development
ABB has introduced a digital eCatalog for selected drive families. Its initial scope includes ACS880, DCS580-S and DCS880 variants. The platform supports searching, filtering and comparing technical product data.
What it means for sourcing
Begin a technical comparison with the complete type code of the installed unit. For an ABB spare-part enquiry, we recommend a readable nameplate photograph showing option codes and serial number. Specify whether you need a complete drive or an assembly such as a control board. A family name is not a unique order number, and matching power ratings alone do not establish a suitable replacement.
Add the supply voltage, motor data, duty and installation location. For a replacement, the responsible technical team should check existing communications, cooling, dimensions and documented software versions. For an assembly, include its reference from the spare-parts list. These details help define an enquiry for Germany or another European destination before the configuration, price and delivery date are agreed.
What to include in your enquiry
- Nameplate, complete type code and option codes
- Complete unit or assembly; existing spare-part reference
- Supply and motor data, duty and interfaces
- Quantity, destination country and requested date
