For deep-drawn parts identify radii, wall-thickness distribution and areas with particular forming requirements. Samples, prototype quantity, batch size and annual demand help establish tooling and process requirements. For assemblies add component drawings, bill of materials, joining method and inspection features. Specify threads, heat treatment, coating and packaging separately. Record existing tool numbers and ownership. The manufacturer’s machine capacity is not an automatic commitment for every material, geometry and tolerance combination; the actual drawing requires review.
