State full product identifier, datasheet revision, width, length and thickness. For die cuts add drawing, tolerances, liner and winding direction. Describe both substrates, surface treatment, temperature and load type. Electrical conduction, insulation and thermal conduction are different requirements; do not equate EC, IS and TC. Agree approval samples and test criteria for production use. A family designation identifies neither a roll format nor a custom die-cut article. Establish shelf life, storage and batch traceability from the particular material documentation. Naming a tape family does not replace testing the joint on the actual component.
