Describe workpiece material, thickness, hardness and the existing cut finish. For discs record outside diameter, bore, drive holes, segment width and rotation direction. State machine model, spindle speed and coolant arrangement; permitted speed and wet or dry use must be confirmed for the specific tool. For wires specify length, bead diameter, bead spacing, coating and joint type. Include marking photographs and the existing tool specification. Bond and grit affect cutting behaviour and cannot be inferred from colour. Material names or similar dimensions alone are insufficient to confirm a suitable replacement.
