State the series, complete execution and existing markings. Measure jaw width, opening, body height, mounting holes and reference edges. Describe workpiece dimensions, material, support surfaces and required tool access. For clamping cubes include pallet interface, overall height and the arrangement of individual vices. Distinguish fixed jaw, moving jaw, spindle and force multiplier using the drawing. A spare-part enquiry should include photographs, drawing position and preferably serial number. Mechanical versions with different clamping directions are not interchangeable solely because dimensions look similar. Establish permitted clamping forces and tightening torques from documentation for the specific execution.
